Georges Road ‘Les Terrasses’ Waipara Rosé 2018

Rose from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 29-Jul-2018
Bright, light salmon-pink colour with some depth and slight purple tints on the lighter rim. The nose is fresh and fragrant with bright aromas of strawberries and cream along with subtle, lifted confectionary and red floral notes, unveiling a fine thread of mouthwatering minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has an elegantly concentrated heart with lively and vibrant flavours of strawberries and cream with quince elements, along with confectionary melded with red florals. The mouthfeel is brisk and refreshing from the acidity which provides thirst-quenching cut to the fruit sweetness. The wine flows along a very fine, phenolic-threaded line, leading to a sustained, flavoursome finish. This is a lively and mouthwatering dry rosé with fragrant strawberries and cream, confectionary and florals on a fine-textured palate. Serve as an aperitif, and with antipasto or dim sum over the next 2 years. Hand-picked MS clone Syrah fruity from the ‘Georges Road’ vineyard, destemmed and crushed to press over a 2 hour cycle, and indigenous yeast fermented in tank to 12.2% alc. and 2.0 g/L RS, the wine spending nearly 2 months on lees. 450 cases made. 18.5/20 Jul 2018 RRP $22.00
