Georges Road ‘Les Terrasses’ Waipara Rosé 2017

Rose from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 22-Feb-2018
Bright, light strawberry-pink colour with some depth, pale edged with some purple tints. The nose is fresh with taut and tightly bound aromas of watermelon and quince with soft red floral notes and steely, mouthwatering minerals. This has delicacy and fine intensity, and builds in depth with aeration. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate is refreshing and thirst-quenching with crunch flavours of watermelon and quince, along with soft red floral elements ad steely minerals. The palate has bright, crisp acidity and the wine flows with good energy along a very fine-textured line, carrying to a long, lingering, zesty finish of watermelon and minerals. This is a thirst-quenching, refined dry rosé with watermelon and quince flavours on a zesty palate. Serve as an aperitif and with canapés over the next 2 years. Hand-picked Syrah fruit picked early for the style, and indigenous yeast fermented in stainless-steel to 12.3% alc. and 3.0 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 250 cases made. 18.5/20 Feb 2018 RRP $22.00
