Georges Road ‘Les Terrasses’ Waipara Rosé 2013

Rose from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 16-Sep-2013
Soft salmon-pink colour with some depth, pale on rim. The nose is light and tightly concentrated with fresh, piquant aromas of spicy red florals, peppery red berry fruits, herbs and a hint of raspberry confectionary. Dry to taste and medium-light bodied, delicately juicy, but distinctive flavours of spicy red fruits pepper and florals form a good core on the palate. This is fine textured, with racy, near slippery acidity providing good liveliness to the mouthfeel and linearity. The acidity carries the peppery red fruit to a very long, lingering finish. This is a dry, distinctive peppery-flavoured rosé made from Syrah with racy freshness. Serve with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean lunch fare over the next 2+ years. Hand-picked Syrah fruit from the ‘Georges Road’ vineyard, given 10 hours skin contact and indigenous yeast fermented to 12.5% alc. and 4.0 g/L RS. 100 six-packs made. 16.5+/20 Sep 2013 RRP $20.95 Release date: October 2013
