Fruit from the ‘Georges Road' vineyard, indigenous yeast fermented to 11.0% alc. and 30 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees. Brilliant pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale edge. The nose is very fine with delicate and subtle aromas of white florals, hints of lime, minerals and a suggestion of rainwater. Medium dry to taste, this is very fine and the fruit very tightly held. There are delicate and pure flavours of minerals and flint intermixed with citrus and floral elements. The mouthfeel is very fine and soft, but kept fresh with racy acidity. Some subtle, savoury sweet and sour nuances are beginning to appear with a touch of honey on the long, sustained finish. This is a very refined, floral and minerally Riesling that will continue to develop more interest over the next 4-6 years. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian cuisine. 18.0/20 May 2012 RRP $23.50 Bright clear, light straw-yellow with pale green hues to the colour, this has a nose of elegance, tight and subtle aromatics of white flowers, lime juice and minerals, with notes of blossom and honey. Medium dry to taste, the flavours of white stonefruits, limes and florals are very delicately expressed, nearly fragile, the acidity providing an extra lift. Beautifully clean and pure, with excellent balance of the residual sugar, there is the faintest ‘sweet and sour' element adding savoury interest. The wine very finely textured and has a fairly sustained, soft and gentle finish with mineral nuances. This has a similarity to the classy Ruwer Rieslings from the Mosel and will drink as an aperitif over the next 4-5+ years.
