Georges Michel ‘Summer Folly’ Marlborough Pinot Noir Rosé 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Mar-2012
Made from 100% Pinot Noir selected for the style, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 0.8 g/L rs. Bright, pale pink colour with pale garnet hues on edge. This has a softly fresh and attractively lifted nose of strawberries and cherries. Dry to taste, this is medium-bodied with a core of gently expressed strawberry fruit with raspberry bon bons and red florals. There are nuances of herbs and watermelon, underscored by lacy acidity. The palate has some alcohol presence, adding to the mouthfeel, but the wine finishes crisp and dry with moderate length. A soft, weighty wine with attractive, fresh fruitiness to serve with antipasto and charcuterie over the next 2 years. 16.5+/20 Mar 2012 RRP $16.00
