Georges Michel ‘La Reserve’ Marlborough Chardonnay 2008

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Mar-2012
Fullish straw-yellow colour with light golden hues. The bouquet is elegantly concentrated with fine citrus fruit aromas complexed by nutty, oxidative notes. Medium-bodied, the palate is restrained in expression, with citrus and stonefruit flavours, hints of butter and nutty elements forming a good core. The mouthfeel is rounded, but has good poise, with fresh acidity and liveliness alongside some creamy textures, leading to a crisp, steely finish. This is a gently complex, soft, nutty, oxidative Chardonnay with white burgundy style. Match with creamy sauced seafood, poultry and pork dishes over the next 3-4 years. Fermented to 13.7% alc. in stainless-steel, the wine was aged 12 months in new French oak barriques with batonnage. 17.0/20 Mar 2012 RRP $27.00
