Gardet Champagne ‘Demi Sec’ NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 19-Nov-2013
Soft straw-yellow colour with a faint blush hinted, the bead vigorous and persistent. The nose is full, up-front and rich with fresh floral aromas alongside white stonefruits, fresh bread and honeysuckle. Medium-dry to taste with a feathery effervescence and mouthfeel, aromatic white stonefruits and honeysuckle feature on the palate, the dosage enriching the flavours. The palate flows with freshness, liveliness and very fine, underlying textures and lacy, soft acidity. Flavours of fresh baking intermingle with the fruit, and are carried on a creamy line to a gentle, up-front finish with good length and richness. This is a fresh, gentle and delicately rich demi-sec Champagne with subtle succulence and honeysuckle flavours. Match with fruit and light desserts over the next 2-3 years. A blend of 45% each Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier with 10% Chardonnay, with 20% reserve wine, aged 3 years on lees, carrying a dosage of 35 g/L RS. 18.0+/20 Nov 2013 RRP $54.99
