Gardet Champagne ‘Cuvee Charles Gardet’ 2002

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 26-Sep-2011
Composed of 70% Chardonnay from Grand and 1er Cru sites in the Cotes de Blancs with 30% Pinot Noir fro, 1er Cru sites in the Montagne de Reims, aged 8 years on less with a dosage of 8 g/L, the wine not undergoing MLF. Disgorged early 2011. Pale straw-yellow colour with a lemon hue, this has a fine bead and very elegant, beautifully fresh bouquet of delicate citrus and floral fruits interwoven with fine bread and yeast notes, lifted with attractive aromatics. Dry on palate, the wine balances crisp, racy acidity with very refined textures and luscious delicacy of white stonefruits. The wine is seamless, yet driven, the palate featuring a sustained, subtly nuanced finish. This is a lesson in finesse.  Sep 2011  RRP $89.99
