Gardet Champagne ‘Byzantine’ Extra Dry NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 19-Nov-2013
Bright, light golden straw-yellow with lemon-green hues, the bead very fine and persistent. The nose is softly fresh and very accessible, with gentle aromas of yellow stonefruits and nuts and a light bready, yeasty autolytic note. Off-dry to taste, the fruit is forward and up-front white flavours of white stonefruits and nuts, along with delicate yeasty and fresh bready elements in support. The mouthfeel is creamy with soft effervescence, the palate follows a very fine-textured and refreshing line, the acidity balancing the sweetness and succulent fruit and dosage amalgam. The bready autolysis is clean and clear, without complication and carries through to a light, sustained finish. This is a soft, up-front and fruity with some sweetness and clean bready interest. A modern and appealing easy Champagne. Serve as an aperitif over the next 2 years. A blend of 45% each Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier with 10% Chardonnay, the wine carrying a dosage of 15 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Nov 2013 RRP $59.99
