Gardet Champagne ‘Brut Blanc de Blancs’ NV

Sparkling Wine from France - Champagne
Review Date : 19-Nov-2013
100% Chardonnay from 1er cru vineyards with 20% reserve wine aged 3 years on lees with 6 g/L RS. Bright, light golden straw-yellow colour, pale on rim, with a persistent and very fine bubble. The bouquet has excellent volume with intense and concentrated aromas of white and yellow stonefruits with a soft baguette and floral amalgam, and a steely, mouthwatering chalkiness emerging in the glass. Very dry to taste, the palate is very fine-featured, tight and steely in presentation. White stonefruits, florals and citrus fruit notes are complexed by subtle and restrained autolytic nuances. This is fresh, lively and cutting, the acidity crisp and fine, adding to the slender, tightly bound nature. The flavours carry through to a near-austere, mouth-wateringly dry and racy finish. This is a classical Blanc de Blancs Champagne with white fruit and racy, and a near austere palate of finesse. Serve as an aperitif wine over the next 3-4+ years. 18.0/20 Nov 2013 RRP $53.99 100% Chardonnay from 1er Cru vineyards with 20% reserve wine, aged 3 years on lees with 6 g/L dosage, disgorged early 2011. Very fresh, full and intense on bouquet with floral and apply aromas combined with fine autolytic notes, this is very dry and crisp on palate.
