Gabriel Meffre ‘Saint Vincent’ Cotes du Rhone 2015

Blended Red from France - Rhone
Review Date : 19-Sep-2016
Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour, youthful in appearance. This has a fresh, bright, moderately concentrated nose of dark red berry fruits infused with herbs and dark raspberry nuances, unfolding dark red florals and savoury game suggestions adding interest. Medium-full bodied, the palate is bright and lively with fresh dark raspberry fruit flavours, lifted by primary floral elements and whole berry fermentation confectionary nuances. The fruit is balanced by soft, dry, grainy tannins and enlivened by fresh acidity. The wine has positive energy and carries to a clean, fruity, lingering finish. This is a bright and juicy raspberry-fruited Cotes du Rhone with floral, herb and game notes, and a grainy, but fresh palate. Serve with barbecued and Mediterranean fare over the next 3 years. A blend of Grenache and Syrah fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged for 6 month in vats. 16.0+/20 Sep 2016 RRP $18.99
