Gabriel Meffre ‘La Chasse’ ‘Prestige’ Cotes du Rhone 2015

Blended Red from France - Rhone
Review Date : 19-Sep-2016
Even, dark ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the edge. This has a soft, light, straightforward and uncomplicated nose with aromas of red berries and dark cherries interwoven with subtle nutty and dried herb notes, and earthy nuances. Medium-bodied, the palate is gently sweet and luscious with light, up-front red cherry and berry fruit flavours entwined with fresh and dried herbs. The mouthfeel is fresh from lacy acidity and the tannin extraction is modest, lending a light textured line. The ine leads to a clean, light, sweet-fruited finish. This is a light and gently sweet, red-fruited Cotes du Rhone with light tannins and fresh mouthfeel. Match with tapas and antipasto over the next 2 years. A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Mourvedre from Cotes du Rhone vineyards, destemmed and fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 6 months in vats. 15.5-/20 Sep 2016 RRP $17.99
