Fuzion ‘Alta’ ‘Reserva’ Malbec 2014

Malbec from Argentina
Review Date : 27-Jan-2016
100% Malbec from Maipu and Santa Rosa, hand-picked and fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine given 10 months oak contact. Full, dark, deep ruby-red colour with slight purple hues. The fruit aromatics are restrained, but the nose has good vinous presence, showing aromas of ripe, dark red and black berry fruits with hints of spice at the core. Lifted red floral and peppery notes emerge with aeration. Medium-bodied, the palate possesses a soft core of ripe, dark red berry and plummy fruit flavours harmoniously entwined with spice and hints of pepper and herbs. The fruit has richness and is balanced by supple tannin extraction and integrated acidity. The wine flows smoothly to a fresh, fruity finish of soft, spicy black fruits. This is a soft, rich, sweet fruited Malbec with supple tannins and gentle grip. Match with roasted red meats, casseroles and semi-hard cheeses over the next 3+ years. 16.5/20 Jan 2016 RRP $24.95
