Fromm Marlborough Riesling Spatlese 2014

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Nov-2015
Very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The nose is very finely concentrated with interwoven aromas of limes and lemonade, white florals and minerals, with nuances of honeysuckle and toasty complexities. The aromatics are thirst-quenching and exude intensity, purity and minerality. Very sweet to taste and light-bodied, the palate is tightly bound, but unfolds luscious lime, honeysuckle and floral fruit, along with jasmine, lemon and mineral layers, with complexing secondary toast notes. This is seamless in flow, the wine following a soft and refined line with fresh, lacy acidity enhancing the lusciousness. The wine carries to a crisp, fine-textured, mouthwatering finish of flowers and honey. This is a beautifully smooth, subtly rich, sweet Riesling with lime, floral, honey and toasty flavours and crisp freshness. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian fare over the next 6-7 years. Fruit from the ‘Fromm’ vineyard, Wairau, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 7.0% alc. and 78.1 g/L RS, TA 8.4 g/L and pH 2.81. 19.0-/20 Nov 2015 RRP $34.75
