Fromm ‘La Strada’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Nov-2015
Bright, even straw-yellow colour with light green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh and well-concentrated with aromas of ripe green stonefruits, gooseberries and capsicums melded with soft, piquant herbs and attractively lifted floral elements. Gentle layers of pungent passionfruit, tropical fruits and lantana add detail and interest. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit is initially reticent and elegant in expression, with flavours of green stonefruits, gooseberries, capsicums and herbs, along with a floral lift building to form a good core with a fine-textured phenolic line. The textures are balanced by fresh, lacy acidity and the bright and lively palate leads to a moderately long, mouth-wateringly dry finish of gooseberries, tropical fruits and lantana. This is a stylishly restrained, finely concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with flavours of gooseberries, lifted piquant herbs and white florals on a fine, lacy, dry-textured palate. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the ‘Heritage’ vineyard, Wairau, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc, the wine aged on lees. Certified BioGro organic. 17.5/20 Nov 2015 RRP $37.05
