Fromm ‘La Strada’ Marlborough Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-May-2015
Bright, pale straw-yellow colourwith slight green hues, mear colourless on rim. The nose is fresh, elegant and tightly bound with aromas of white stonefruits detailed by nutty, reductive lees elements, unfolding citrus and steely, flinty nuances. This is very white burgundy-like. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is tightly bound with a finely concentrated core of white stonefruits and citrus fruits entwined with white florals and reductive nutty, lees elements. This is very fine featured with refined textures and excellent acid tension and vitality underlining the flavours, carrying the wine to an elegant, crisp., mouthwatering, minerally finish. This is a tight, steely, white stonefruited Chardonnay with white burgundy style and finesse. Serve with seafood and poultry over the next 4-5+ years. Mendoza clone fruit from the ‘Clayvin’ vineyard, hand-picked and indigenous yeast barrel-fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 15-16 months in French oak, no more than 10% new, undergoing 100% MLF. 18.0-/20 May 2015 RRP $37.05
