Fromm ‘Clayvin Vineyard’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2000

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 14-Mar-2012
Dark, deep ruby-red with a little garnet, but still youthful in appearance. This has concentrated aromas of dark berry fruits, still with a floral violet component adding lift, but also with savoury forest-floor and mushroom notes emerging prominently with time in the glass. The palate is now showing complex secondary flavours of savoury berries and herbs with game, quite sweet, with suppleness and almost an elegance and lightness. Drinking on its plateau now, with good interest, and for the next 3-4+ years. 14.0% alc., the first wine from the replanted vines of the late 1990s.  18.0/20  Mar 2012
