Frizzell Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Apr-2012
Fruit from the Wairau and Awatere valleys cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 2.0 g/L rs, the wine given lees aging. Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on rim. This has a soft, full, ethereal bouquet of passionfruit and gooseberry aromas, pure in expression and even in volume. Dry to taste, soft flavours of passionfruit, limes and capsicums flow smoothly across the palate, the wine gentle in mouthfeel, the acidity well-balanced and unobtrusive. The fruit sweetness through the mid-palate is the feature, and shows good richness, and the flavours carry through to a long finish of gooseberry and fresh herbs. This is a soft, mellow and flavoursome Sauvignon Blanc with the freshness to match poultry, salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. 17.0+/20 Apr 2012 RRP $21.95
