Frizzell ‘Hey Jude’ Marlborough Rosé 2011

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Oct-2012
Marlborough Pinot Noir fruit from 10 y.o. vines, given 48 hours skin contact and cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 6.5 g/L rs. Even peach-pink colour, some ‘eye of partridge' hue on rim. This has a softly full bouquet of savoury strawberry fruit and watermelon aromas with notes of red florals, candy-floss and flinty minerals, all providing interest. Off-dry to taste, soft red berry fruit flavours are underlined by crisp and lively acidity. The mouthfeel has a softness and accessibility, the bright fruit gently building in intensity to show good weight and breadth. The flavours follow a good palate line, leading to a dry, long, refreshing finish. This is a soft, fresh, strawberry-fruited rosé with good mouthfeel and presence. 300 dozen made. Match with charcuterie and antipasto over the next 18 months. 17.0-/20 Oct 2012 RRP $21.95
