Frizzell ‘Hey Jude’ Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2013

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 12-Oct-2013
Bright, pale pink colour with light purple hues on edge, youthful in appearance. The nose is softly full and elegant with savoury strawberry fruit aromas along with red berry fruits, red florals, spice and peppery elements. The aromatics gently build and show a minerally freshness. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the flavours of savoury red berry fruit are delicate and shy, but exude a subtle richness. The palate has good weight and presence, with alcohol power providing good drive and energy. Soft textures and mild acidity add to the mouthfeel and vinosity, and the wine carries through to a light, dry, softly textured finish with herb, currant and peppery notes. This dry rosé has light savoury strawberry flavours but good weight and vinosity. Serve with antipasto, charcuterie and tapas on the verandah. Hawke’s Bay fruit, 88% Pinot Noir from 8 y.o. vines with 12% Syrah, given 48 hours skin contact and cool-fermented to 14.0% alc. and 6.5 g/L RS. 500 dozen made. 16.5/20 Oct 2013 RRP $21.95
