Frizzell ‘Hey Jude’ Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2011

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 15-Dec-2011
Made from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot fruit from Hawke's Bay, cool-fermented with brief skin contact to 13.5% alc. and <3.5 g/L rs. Bright, light purple-pink colour with purple-blue hues on a light rim. This has a fresh, tight and youthful nose showing delicate raspberry and cherry aromas lifted with floral nuances and a hint of fresh herbs. Mouth-wateringly dry, this is crisp and zingy with fresh acidity underlining the fresh raspberry and red cherry fruit flavours. The palate has a steely edge alongside a faint textural thread which provides some depth and line. Subtle red fruits and floral notes show on the finish. This is a dry, thirst-quenching rosé to serve chilled with tapas and charcuterie during warm weather over the next 2-3 years. 16.5/20 Dec 2011 RRP $21.95
