Frizzell Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 28-Sep-2011
Bright, light golden-straw yellow colour with a pale edge, this has a softly full nose of ripe grapefruit and dried peaches with some nutty oak complexed by hints of butterscotch. Dry and medium full-bodied, this has restrained flavours of ripe yellow stonefruits and mealy fruit, nutty oak and a little MLF butteriness. There is some good depth and power, the alcohol adding some warmth and presence. The wine has soft textures and moderate acidity enabling accessibility and shows ripe tropical fruit nuances on the finish. Match with poultry, pork and firm cheeses over the next 3-4+ years. Fruit from two Hawke's Bay sites fermented to 13.5% alc, a portion in barrel, with lees stirring and MLF conversion. 500 cases made. 17.5-/20 Sep 2011 RRP $21.95
