Frederic Mochel Alsace Grand Cru Muscat ‘Altenberg de Bergbieten’ 2009

Muscat from France - Alsace
Review Date : 07-Sep-2011
Pale edged, bright straw-yellow colour, this has a concentrated, herby-green tea muskiness on nose, with some savoury aspects to the aromatics. Dry to taste, this has fullness, at 13.5% alc., the palate showing volume and density, with a solid, soft mouthfeel. Savoury raisin, musky-grape and herb flavours show with good concentration, though restrained a little. There is good acidity, and the wine is one of balance.  Sep 2011
