Frederic Magnien Chambertin ‘Clos de Beze’ Grand Cru 2006

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 28-Aug-2012
Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, fruit from Damoy, 13.5% alc. Full, deep, dark ruby-red colour, youthful in appearance. This has a very powerful nose of dark red berry fruit aromas along with pronounced spicy oak with bacony overtones somewhat dominating the fruit. Fullish-bodied, this has beautifully rich, succulent and concentrated flavours of lively ripe fruit. However, the spicy oak flavours feature strongly. The palate has great energy and vitality, with very fine-grained and firm tannins along with brightness from acidity, forming excellent structure. The oak becomes more integral and harmonious with time in the glass. 9-12+ years ahead. 18.5-/20 Aug 2012
