Frederic Esmonin Chambertin ‘Clos de Beze’ Grand Cru 2006

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 28-Aug-2012
Based at Gevrey-Chambertin. From 0.29 ha, from Dujac holdings, 13.5% alc. Very full, very dark, youthful purple-red colour. This has a very full, dense nose, still quite primary in ripe dark berry aromas, raspberry, near boysenberry, yet complex layers of interest within. A suspicion of TCA in this bottle? Full-bodied and quite robust in presentation, bold and fruit-expressive, upfront, but with the tannin grip and fresh acidity all in the mix. Excellent core underneath, but with a surprising accessibility. The hint of taint dissipating in glass. This has ripeness, sweetness and a focus on fruit, but there is plenty of structure here. 8-12+ years. 19.0+/20 Aug 2012
