Framingham ‘Nobody’s Hero’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Dec-2017
Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour, paler on the rim. The nose is fresh and bright with gently voluminous aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, white florals and some honeysuckle notes and an amalgam of nuts and minerals. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has a core of gentle yellow stonefruit flavours melded with honeysuckle and nutty notes and nuances of lemon-curd. The fruit forms a core with slightly firm phenolic textures and grip, and the palate has light, balancing acidity lending freshness and zip. The palate has underlying power and drive, and the wine carries to a light, nuanced finish. This is a softly textured dry Pinot Gris with stonefruit and honied flavours and some underlying power and drive. Match with a variety of white meat dishes over the next 2+ years. Fruit from 3 sites in the Wairau Valley, fermented in stainless-steel with approx. 35% in seasoned oak to 13.5% alc. and 5.9 g/L RS, the wine aged several months on lees. 16.5+/20 Dec 2017 RRP $15.00
