Framingham Marlborough ‘Select’ Riesling 2014

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Jan-2015
Bright straw-yellow colour with pale green hues on a lighter edge. This has a very fine and elegant, slender nose with tightly concentrated, pure and delicate aromas of lime juice, white florals and honeysuckle, along with piquant mineral elements. Sweet to taste and light-bodied, tightly focussed flavours of limes, florals and honey are enlivened by fresh acid cut. The mouthfeel is bright and lively with vitality and energy, and the palate flows with a racy poise. The sweetness and richness is balanced by freshness, youth and the finest phenolics, and the wine leads to a long, lingering medium-sweet finish with floral and honied notes. This is an elegant and poised, youthful, medium-sweet Riesling with pure floral and honey flavours. It will develop considerable interest over the next 5-6 years. Serve with Asian fare and fruit desserts. Inspired by the German Spatlese style, the fruit without any botrytis influence cool-fermented to 8.5% alc. and 68 g/L RS, TA 8.8 g/L and pH 2.85. 19.0-20 Jan 2015 RRP $35.00
