Framingham Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Sep-2013
Bright, very pale straw colour, pale on rim. The nose is softly full and gently concentrated with deep passionfruit aromas infused with flint and mineral elements, revealing herbal and nettle notes in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, soft, but well-bound flavours of minerals and passionfruit form a fine-textured core and line. The flinty lees work is a feature and along with the phenolics provides a dry mouthfeel. The wine has density and presence, and the fullness is enhanced by soft acidity. The flavours carry through to a textured finish lifted with some acid zestiness. This is a soft and dry, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with some density and texture. Serve with Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Fruit fermented to 13.0% alc. with approx. 7% in barriques and puncheons, this portion undergoing MLF, the wine undergoing batonnage. 17.5/20 Sep 2013 RRP $21.00
