Framingham Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 25-Sep-2012
Fruit from 7 sites in the Wairau Valley, mainly stainless-steel fermented, around 7% barrel-fermented with batonnage and partial MLF, the resultant wine 13.0% alc. Brilliant straw-yellow colour with slight green-gold hues. The bouquet is full and fragrant with gently layered aromas of passionfruit, white florals, limes and minerals, still tight and undeveloped, and with a concentrated core. Dry to taste, rich and succulent, somewhat restrained fruit flavours of gooseberries, passionfruit and smoke show, the palate underlined by soft, fine textures and bright, balanced acidity. The fruit is concentrated and with depth, and flows smoothly building with ethereal waves of flavour. The wine has a very long, softly racy finish with detailed fruit nuances. This is a refined, succulent Sauvignon Blanc that has concentration and a racy freshness. Match with seafood and poultry over the next 2-3 years. 18.5-/20 Sep 2012 RRP $21.00
