Framingham Marlborough Noble Riesling 2014

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 26-Feb-2015
Bright, moderately deep, light golden yellow colour, paler on edge. This has a full, rich complete and harmoniously integrated nose with densely packed and opulent aromas of ripe citrus fruits, marmalade, honey and apricots, along with pervasive musk and talc botrytis layers. Very sweet to taste and light-medium bodied, lusciously succulent and opulent flavours of citrus fruits, marmalade, apricots and honey are seamlessly melded and fill the palate with unctuous, rounded and smooth textures, forming a dense core. The mouthfeel has fine background acidity providing some lacy tension and fresh, underlying vitality, carrying the concentrated and full flavours of marmalade, apricot and musk to a very long, lingering finish. This is a beautifully opulent and unctuous sweet Riesling with a harmonious and complete melding of rich fruit and exotic botrytis. Serve with crème brulee, caramel desserts, steamed puddings and blue cheese over the next 8-10+ years. Hand-picked fruit from 5 auslese picks with net botrytis influence around 75% and net 35° Brix, fermented in stainless-steel and oak barrels and 50 L stainless kegs to 9.5% alc. and 195 g/L RS. Deemed a beerenauslese style. (375 ml) 3,800 bottles made. 19.5/20 Feb 2015 RRP $40.00
