Framingham Marlborough Noble Riesling 2013

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Nov-2013
Bright light golden-yellow colour with good depth, lighter on rim. This has a full, solid and dense bouquet with opulent, honied citrus fruits, marmalade and savoury, musky botrytis finely interwoven and building in depth and breadth in the glass. Very sweet to taste, densely packed and concentrated, decadent flavours of tropical and citrus fruits form an amalgam with savoury marmalade, honey and musk notes, the fruit and botrytis extremely harmonious and fully integrated. The mouthfeel is complete in richness and unctuous in texture, the acidity enlivening the palate and adding to the succulence. This has great depth and drive, with the sugar and acidity carrying through to a concentrated and long lingering finish of honey and musk. This is a decadent and succulent Riesling dessert wine, with density and harmony, beyond Beerenauslese standard in richness. Serve -with caramel desserts or instead of a liqueur. This will develop over the next 7-10 years. Blended from six Auslese picks, the bunches with 15-100% botrytis-affected berries, averaging approx. 75%, fermented in stainless-steel and oak barrels, and 50 L stainless-steel kegs to 9.5% alc. and 204 g/L RS. 2850 bottle made. (375 ml) 19.5-/20 Nov 2013 RRP $40.00
