Framingham Marlborough Gewurztraminer 2010

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Jan-2012
Bright, even, light golden hued straw-yellow colour. The nose is is packed with intense and concentrated aromas of musk, herbs, ginger and rose petal florals, and a touch of reduction and flint. Medium in sweetness, this has a smooth, seamless and luscious mouthfeel with harmoniously interwoven flavours of musk, ginger and Turkish Delight. This has intensity, but is balanced by discreet acidity which provides cut and style. The rich fruit flavours carry through to a long, warm finish. Estate fruit cool-fermented in stainless-steel, a portion in old barriques with wild yeasts and lees work to 14.0% alc. and 16 g/L rs. This is a rich and seamlessly smooth Gewurztraminer with intense and concentrated musk, ginger and floral character that will make it a match with Middle Eastern fare over the next 3-4+ years. 18.5/20 Jan 2012 RRP $27.95
