Framingham Marlborough ‘Classic’ Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 25-Oct-2015
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with pale green-gold hues, lighter on rim. The nose is fresh and well-proportioned with good depth and volume of lime and lemon fruit entwined with soft white and yellow florals, some nuances of honeysuckle and complexing flint and mineral detail. The aromatics are soft and pure in expression, revealing subtle suggestions of toast with aeration. Medium-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features a soft-textured core with rich citrus fruits harmoniously melded with florals notes and honeysuckle. The flavours blossom in aromatic richness through the mid-palate and are carried by a fine, mouthwatering, phenolic line that leads to a long, dryish finish with citrus and florals. This is a soft, harmonious, medium Riesling with pure citrus, floral and honeysuckle flavours and a fine phenolic line. Serve as an aperitif, with seafood and with Asian fare over the next 5+ years. Fruit 25% hand-picked, fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc., 17 g/L RS, TA 7.7 g/L and pH 2.95, the wine aged 2-3 months on ferment lees and 7 months on light less, a small component aged in old oak. 18.5/20 Oct 2015 RRP $25.00
