Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Viognier 2010

Viognier from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 01-Feb-2012
Brilliant straw-yellow colour with light green-gold hues. This has a soft and full nose that unfolds with volume, revealing interwoven aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits, exotic florals, musk as well as some smoke and mineral notes. Dry and full-bodied, the flavours of ripe tropical fruits, apricots and ginger are mouthfilling, but a solid, dense core along with some alcoholic power drives the line of the palate. Rounded, near unctuous textures add to the richness, and the finish is warm, solid and nuanced with flavours of apricot and ginger. Fruit from 0.4 ha of estate vines, hand-picked and WBP, partially wild yeast and seasoned oak fermented to 14.5% alc. and 6 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees for 11 months. This is a full, broad, flavoursome Viognier that will match Middle Eastern and Mediterranean inspired cuisine over the next 3-4 years. 18.0/20 Feb 2012 RRP $34.95
