Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Jun-2018
Bright, light golden-yellow colour with some depth, pale on the rim. The nose is softly full with aromas of gooseberries and green stonefruits, along with a complex array of yellow stonefruits and herbs, harmoniously melded with a soft layering of nutty lees that allow the fruit to feature. Medium-full bodied, the palate is gently full and rounded with mouthfilling flavours of green stonefruits, gooseberries, along with yellow stonefruits and herbal detail adding interest. The palate has presence and weight with a subtle richness and unctuousness, all balanced by fresh, crisp, poised acidity providing a mouthwatering palate. The flavours blossom to show nutty lees and carry to a gently full, but refreshing finish. This is a gently full and detailed Sauvignon Blanc with an array of stonefruit, gooseberry and herbal flavours on a palate with poise and presence. Serve with salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. Estate vineyard fruit, 15% given skin contact overnight, and fully indigenous yeast fermented in seasoned oak to 13.5% alc. and dryness and given 10 months on full lees, blended with 9% 2016 wine which spent 2 years on lees. 3,200 bottles made. 18.5+/20 Jun 2018 RRP $35.00
