Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Oct-2014
Bright, even, light golden hued yellow colour, lighter on rim. The bouquet is full with softly layered aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits and exotic florals, with secondary hints of savoury herbs beans, and complexing nutty, creamy barrel-ferment notes. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, rich and gently fulsome flavours of ripe gooseberries, herbs and yellow stonefruits are melded with complex nutty, creamy barrel-ferment notes, hints of lemon curd and green bean nuances. The mouthfeel is soft, open and accessibly integrated with discreet acidity allowing the fruit sweetness to show. The wine carries smoothly to a rich finish with good presence and length. This is a soft, richly layered and complex barrel-influenced Sauvignon Blanc with some secondary development flavours. Match with herb-marinated poultry and pork dishes, or with Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3+ years. Organically grown estate fruit indigenous yeast fermented, 65% in seasoned oak and 35% in stainless barrels to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months on lees with some batonnage and 30-40% MLF. 75 dozen made. 18.5-/20 Oct 2014 RRP $35.00
