Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 19-Aug-2013
Fruit from a 0.4 ha plot on the estate, hand-picked and indigenous yeast fermented, 65% in old oak and 35% in stainless barrel to 13.0% alc, the wine on lees for 10 months with batonnage and 35% MLF. 80 dozen made. Fullish straw-yellow colour with light golden-green hues. The nose is full and voluminous with a concentrated and complex melange of greengage, nectarine, herb flint and mineral aromas. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, mouthfilling flavours of green stonefruits are infused with flint and mineral layers. This is concentrated with great depth, the mouthfeel quite textural and robust. An underlying line of acidity provides succulence and freshness, and the palate has power and drive. The strong, packed flavours are carried to a concentrated and textural finish with very good length. This is a full, robust, complex-flavoured and textural Sauvignon Blanc to serve with herb-marinated white meat dishes over the next 3-4+ years. 18.5+/20 Aug 2013 RRP $35.00
