Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese 2014

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 26-Feb-2015
Hand-picked fruit, 40% from front and 60% back old vines, 100% botrytis affected berries at net 43.3° Brix, fermented in 50 L stainless kegs to 9.5% alc. and 295 g/L RS. Brilliant, light golden yellow colour with some depth, lighter on rim. The nose is full, concentrated and voluminous with opulent aromas of exotic tropical fruits, marmalade, honey, caramelised fruits, exotic musk and talc botrytis. The nose is beautifully vibrant and fresh with fine and intense floral lift. Very sweet and light-medium bodied, the palate has great depth, weight and mouthfilling presence of richness, alongside beautifully refreshing acid vitality. The opulence is sensational, but is expressed with poise and finesse. This is integrated, harmonious and seamless in flow, filling the palate with endless layers of decadence. Concentrated flavours of exotic tropical and citrus fruits, florals, wild honey and musk are carried with energy and precision, and the wine has a very long, lingering unctuous finish. The Riesling Trockenbeernauslese combines immense richness concentratuion and opulence with beautiful energy, vitality and freshness. Serve with the sweetest desserts, blue cheese and instead of a liqueur over the next 10-12+ years. (375 ml) 406 bottles made. 19.5+/20 Feb 2015 RRP $70.00
