Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese 2011

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Sep-2011
Made from 100% botrytis affected berries, all of which were dried out, partially fermented in oak to 7.5% alc. and 295 g/L rs. Brilliant, full, light golden-yellow colour, this has a very full, voluminous nose, packed with botrytis aromas, with tropical fruits, wild honey and marmalade, lifted by a whisker of volatility, the nose still a little brash and raw, but with a full array of componentry clear and obvious. Extremely rich, the luscious and unctuous mouthfeel is the highlight of the wine. Wonderfully weighty and mouth-coating, layers of flavour unfold and blossom, showing all manner of exotic, fully-ripened fruits and massive botrytis complexities, forming a seamless amalgam. The acidity is behind the sweetness and richness, providing the wine with focus and an excellent line and flow. This has a very long and sustained finish that exudes opulence. A complete wine of amazing decadence. This should keep well and be treasured on opening. 210 bottles made. (375 ml).  Sep 2011  RRP $60.00
