Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Riesling Kabinett 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Oct-2015
Hand-picked fruit, the first pass, from the middle of the ‘Front Block’ old vines at 20.6° Brix, with no botrytis. 60% stainless-steel ferment and 40% in barrel to 8.5% alc. and 48 g/L RS. Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, very light on the rim. The nose is soft and full with up-front aromas of limes and lemons with good depth and volume. The fruit reveals floral and subtle herbal nuances and mouthwatering chalky mineral elements. Medium in sweetness and light-bodied, the palate shows well-concentrated flavours of lime fruit entwined with subtle white floral and honeysuckle, along with flinty minerals. Fine, grainy phenolic textures lend a dry thread and line, and fresh lacy acidity balances the mouthfeel lifting the floral and honied sweetness. Some esters emerge to carry through to a dry, racy, thirst-quenching finish with herb and mineral elements. This is a fresh, well-concentrated Kabinett style with lime and mineral flavours and a textured line. Serve as an aperitif and with mildly spicy fare over the next 5 years. 533 bottles made. 18.5/20 Oct 2015 RRP $35.00
