Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Riesling Beerenauslese 2011

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Sep-2011
Bunches with 100% botrytis infection, around 60% of the berries dried out, the remainder with initial purple botrytis bloom, patially fermented in oak to 9.0% alc. and 205 g/L rs. Brilliant light golden colour with good depth, paler on edge, the aromatics a seamless amalgam of lemon and lime fruit with considerable marmalade and wild honey botrytis, quite concentrated and with density, the bouquet obviously still to unfold and blossom. Extremely sweet, this features an intriguingly exotic and intensely flavoured palate of citrus and tropical fruits with ginger marmalade, honey and talc. The weight and density is startling and the lusciousness and richness is superbly matched by excellent racy acidity which adds to the nerve and tension of the wine. A heavily botrytised wine with remarkable freshness and balance. 230 bottles made. (375 ml).  Sep 2011  RRP $50.00
