Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Riesling Auslese 2015

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Oct-2015
Hand-harvested fruit, a blend of 3 picks, bunches with up to 20% botrytis affected berries, with net 27.0° Brix. Indigenous yeast ferment, 57% in stainless barrels and 43% in old oak to 8.5% alc. and 122 g/L RS. Brilliant light golden yellow colour with some depth, lighter on the rim. The nose is elegantly concentrated with rich and opulently ripe aromas of lime fruit and exotic florals entwined with honied notes. The core unveils talc botrytis with complexing savoury yellow florals and nutty and mineral suggestions. Very sweet and luscious to taste, and light-bodied, opulent and plush flavours of ripe citrus fruits are interwoven with gentle marmalade and honied notes. The botrytis flavours support and add a layer of interest to the fruit. The sweetness and richness of the wine and its subtle unctuousness is balanced by fine acid cut and a dry, phenolic textural thread, and the wine flows with good drive and linearity to a softly rich finish of honey, marmalade and musk. This is a rich and lusciously opulent sweet Riesling with ripe citrus fruit complexed by a layer of musk botrytis and carried by fine textures. Serve on its own or with fruit desserts over the next 5-6 years. 551 bottles made. (375 ml) 19.0-/20 Oct 2015 RRP $45.00
