Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Riesling Auslese 2013

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 15-Nov-2013
Bright straw-yellow with a light golden heart, pale on edge. The nose is fresh and elegant with youthful lime fruits and lifted exotic jasmine florals, along with honied elements, beautifully interwoven with youthful cut. Very sweet to taste, rich and concentrated flavours of ripe citrus fruit and honey are well concentrated and expressed with real clarity. The mouthfeel is moderately unctuous, with soft acidity and a delicate textural line guiding the palate flow. The citrus fruit is tight and focussed, and the acidity lends liveliness and raciness. A harmonious array of fruit and subtle botrytis flavours lead to a very long, lingering honied finish. This is a well-concentrated, soft and lively Auslese Riesling with citrus, floral and honied flavours. Serve as an aperitif and with fruit desserts over the next 6-7 years. Blended from two Auslese picks, from old vines, mainly the front block, with some back block, the bunches with up to 20% botrytis. Fermented in stainless-steel barrels to 8.5% alc. and 134 g/L RS. 385 bottles made. (375 ml) 18.5+/20 Nov 2013 RRP $45.00
