Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Riesling Auslese 2012

Sweet Wine from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 03-Dec-2012
Hand-picked fruit from the front and back of the winery over three passes over 10 weeks, the first two picks with up to 20% botrytis, the third pick with dehydrated fruit and no botrytis. 8.5% alc. and 115 g/L rs. Brilliant, light golden hued straw colour, lighter on edge. This has a beautifully nose that has vibrantly fresh lime, pure floral and rich honied aromas in wonderful juxtaposition. The aromas are densely-packed and concentrated, revealing exotic jasmine and fresh herb notes, and subtle talc and marmalade botrytis aromas show. Very sweet, this has lovely bright fruit flavours of lime and citrus fruits and honied botrytis. The palate flows with excellent tension and energy from fresh, lacy acidity that counterbalances the sweetness and richness. The poised liveliness and lusciousness is carried to a fine, crisp, sustained finish with detailed nuances of marmalade and citrus zest. This is a sweet Riesling with great finesse and elegance. Serve with fruit desserts or enjoy on its own as a sweet treat over the next 6-8 years. 440 bottles made. (375 ml) 19.5-/20 Nov 2012 RRP $40.00
