Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 25-Oct-2015
Dark ruby-red colour with slight purple hues, youthful in appearance. The nose is full and softly concentrated with aromas of dark raspberries and blackberry fruit along with subtle stalk and herb whole cluster complexities, and nuances of undergrowth and game adding attractive detail. Medium-full bodied, the palate is softly concentrated with a positive core of ripe, dark raspberry and black berried fruits entwined with stalk, herb and game complexities. The flavours are rich and supported by soft textured tannin extraction and fine, grainy structure and mouthfeel. Lacy acidity lends liveliness and energy, enhancing the fruitiness, and the wine carries to a sustained, piquant finish of red fruits and florals with herb elements. This is a softly concentrated Pinot Noir with red and black fruit along with whole cluster stalk and herb interest and fine-grained textures. Serve with coq au vin and casseroles over the next 4-5+ years. Fruit from 2 Southern Valleys sites, fermented with approx. 15% whole bunches to 14.0% alc., the wine spending 28 days on skins and aged 14 months in 20% new French oak barrels. 2,733 bottles made. 18.0/20 Oct 2015 RRP $40.00
