Framingham ‘F-Series’ Marlborough Montepulciano Rosato 2011

Rose from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Jan-2012
The Italian variety Montepulciano, the wine left on skins for 3 days then tank and barrel-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 5 g/L rs, a portion undergoing MLF. Bright, light pink with some purple hues on edge, youthful in appearance, there are intense aromas of bright and vibrant red berry and currant fruit with elements of raspberry confectionary and minerals. Dry to taste, rich, ripe red berry and currant fruit flavours are enriched by juicy and lifted raspberry notes, forming a good core to the palate. Slippery acidity adds a freshness and enhances the juiciness of the wine, which has a gentle, rounded texture. The wine has a raspberry fruited, fresh and mouthwatering finish. This is a softly fresh and juicy rosé that will match firm flesh seafood and charcuterie, and enjoy in warmer weather over the next 18 months to 2 years. 17.5/20 Jan 2012 RRP $24.95
