Foxhill Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 22-Apr-2014
Brilliant, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on rim. The nose is fresh with clean, mouthwatering gooseberry fruit, green apples and nettle-like aromas, revealing hints of tropical fruits. Dry to taste, sweet and juicy, up-front gooseberry fruit flavours show with some cool-spectrum nettle flavours. The mouthfeel is racy and near slippery with elevated acidity, and the palate follows a textural, phenolic line. The flavours become progressively lighter, leading to a dry finish. This is an up-front, thirst-quenching dry-textured Sauvignon Blanc with cooler fruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with shellfish and creamy cheeses over the next 2 years. Waimea Plains fruit, cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and <3 g/L RS. 16.0+/20 Apr 2014 RRP $13.99
