Foxhill Nelson Pinot Noir 2012

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 22-Apr-2014
Nelson fruit with a mix of clones from the Moutere and Waimea Plains, hand-picked and fermented partially with inoculated yeasts to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in barrel. Moderately deep, dark red colour with light garnet hues on rim. This has an elegant and slender bouquet with well-concentrated aromas of dark red berry fruits, spices, savoury dark herbs, along with some oak lift. Medium-full bodied, tightly bound and concentrated flavours of dark berry fruits and spices sit alongside grainy tannins providing plenty of structure, presence and mouthfeel. Lively acidity and the extraction lend a firmness to the palate line, and the core of flavours is carried to a dry, textured and lingering finish of spicy red fruit. This is a firmly structured Pinot Noir with concentrated dark red fruit flavours. Match with slow-cooked red meat dishes over the next 4-5 years. 16.5+/20 Apr 2014 RRP $17.99
