Foxes Island ‘Belsham Awatere Estate’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2009

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 24-Mar-2011
Pale straw-yellow colour with some green hues, his has a soft, gentle, but voluminous nose of gooseberries, white flesh peaches, limes and minerals. Dry on palate, this is a very stylishly expressed wine, with restrained ripe gooseberry and fresh herb flavours enhances with tropical fruit nuances. While fresh with good acidity, the textures are soft, smooth and beginning to mellow with harmony. Serve as an aperitif and with all seafood dishes over the next 3+ years. Fruit from the ‘Belsham Awatere' vineyard cool-fermented, 2% in new French oak, to 13.5% alc. and 2.6 g/L rs. Aged on fine lees for 3 months. 17.5/20 Mar 2011 RRP $31.00
