Four Hawk Day ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 22-Dec-2015
Bright, light golden-yellow colour with some depth, a little lighter on the rim. This is elegantly concentrated and well-packed on the bouquet with integrated aromas of greengages and picy green stonefruits, quince and herbs, a suggestion of green beans, nutty oak and camphor. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is finely concentrated with an integrated core of greengages, spicy and nutty green stonefruits, herbs, oak and camphor. The oaking is a feature, but the wine flows smoothly with soft textures, the palate showing richness and good drive. The stonefruit flavours reveal herb, nettle and oak, and carry to a long, complex finish. This is a smooth-flowing, softly concentrated Sauvignon Blanc with considerable spicy stonefruit and oak complexities. Match with herb-marinated seafood, poultry and pork dishes over the next 3 years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP, and indigenous yeast barrel-fermented to 13.0% alc., and aged 10 months in barrel and partial MLF. 17.5/20 Dec 2015 RRP $24.00
